My previous Echo Dot, purchased back in 2018, was a third-generation. It was a white shuffleboard stone covered in cloth and it is amazing. I'll never say it's not; in fact it's so amazing that I passed it on to my mom and she enjoys it a great deal.So, my main motivation for purchasing this, the fifth generation issued in 2022 – aside from familiarity with the brand – was I needed a Matter hub so my then-incoming Nanoleaf smart lightbulbs could work with my voice. But of course it is so much more.First thing I see is that the Echo Dot is no longer a white shuffleboard stone but is a smaller, navy blue sphere. Aside from being my favorite color, and thus very pleasing to look at, I find it that it is not practical any longer to mount on my wall because of its increased focus on the forward firing speaker; if I had mounted it, it would not be effective in spreading out to my entire room – the top of the speaker is reserved for the buttons which were present on the third-generation: volume up, volume down, action/wake and mute microphone, which leave no room for a speaker in that area. So it sits pretty on my side table facing the rest of my room, and does fine.First thing I hear is the sound quality is so much better than the third-generation Dot. The third-generation was okay in that regard, but it tended to sound a little overexposed when the volume was up high. Now, I don't find myself connecting via Bluetooth to my sound bar nearly as much because the speaker quality is just that good. The quiet parts of music are quiet and calming the way they should be, but the bass thumps quite effectively, surprisingly for such a small and lightweight speaker.So after I'd established the smart speaker in my room for about a month, I felt the time was right to go ahead and get my Nanoleaf Essentials bulbs, to upgrade the ones that I had no longer been able to use for a year since they had stopped working with any voices assistants, to facilitate compatibility with the then upc

We have two Amazon Alexas in our house, and somehow they’ve both ended up living in my 5-year-old’s room! 😂 He is absolutely obsessed with them. As an only child, he loves to role-play with Alexa, and it’s been wonderful for encouraging his imagination, expanding his vocabulary, reinforcing good manners, and giving him someone besides Mom to talk to throughout the day. Every parent knows the constant “Hey Mom!” moments, so hearing “Hey Alexa!” every now and then gives me a chance to get a few things done around the house.I was able to snag this Echo in Used – Like New condition for more than half off the regular price, and I jumped on it as soon as I saw it. I’m so glad I did! I also purchased the wireless battery base, and now my son carries Alexa around the house like a little friend, making sure it’s included in all of his adventures! Even after buying the battery base, I still spent about what I would have paid for a brand-new Echo Dot, so I feel like I got an incredible deal.The condition truly lived up to the “Like New” description. It arrived in excellent shape with no signs of wear at all. While it didn’t come in the original retail box, it was packaged securely in an Amazon box and worked perfectly right out of the package.My only minor complaint, and this is just me being picky, is that the power cord is white even though I ordered the black Echo. Since we’re using the wireless battery base, it doesn’t affect us right now, but it might bother me a little if I ever decide to plug it directly into the wall. Even so, for the price I paid, it’s a very small issue.I’m a frequent shopper of Amazon’s Used – Like New products because I’ve consistently had great experiences, and this purchase was no exception. If you’re considering buying one in Like New condition, I definitely recommend it!

I’m really happy with the Amazon Echo Dot. It’s compact but surprisingly useful, and the sound quality is good for its size. Setup was quick and easy, and Alexa responds well to commands. I love being able to use it for music, timers, reminders, and controlling compatible smart devices. Overall, it’s a convenient little smart speaker and a great addition to my home.

I really like this sound quality, shape & blue color of this Echo Dot. The only drawback that I've found with this model, is that sometimes when I'm moving the speaker while it's playing, I must touch something on the top that stops the music. My understanding is that there's some sort of a pause feature on this like a snooze feature by touching the top of the speaker when an alarm is going off, but when the music is playing and I pick up the speakers one-handed, to move it or turn it a different direction, it will pause the music. I've learned that I just need to tell Alexa to resume or play and she'll come back on, but it's kind of tedious.Overall, I'm loving this version of the Echo Dot I like that the blue color helps me to see which direction the speaker's facing at first glance, for when I need to adjust it in my room.I highly recommend this Echo Dot speaker.

I absolutely love my Echo Dot! The setup was quick and easy, and Alexa responds very fast to my commands. The sound quality is excellent for such a compact speaker—clear, loud, and perfect for music. I use it for alarms, reminders, weather updates, music, and controlling my smart devices at home. It has made my daily routine so much easier and more convenient. The design is also modern and looks great anywhere in the house. I’m extremely happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it! 5 stars!
